Grendel: A Haiku

Today I’m using the haiku format to prepare for the coming release of Beowulf: The Midgard Epic. Haiku format is simple. The poem is composed with 17 syllables, broken into three lines of 5/7/5. A true haiku focuses on nature and seasons. They originated in Japan. I’m using the structure for artistic purposes. It’s a fun way to be creative. Enjoy. And get ready … adventure awaits!

Claws like razor blades
Shred flesh and rip men apart
Grendel dines tonight
